It is in the area of business recovery and rescue that Grandholm comes into its own. This is largely down to the individual and collective expertise of its people, the many senior positions held and the transformational challenges that they have managed in their careers.

How we operate

Grandholm assesses each client in relation to its potential and, following a detailed strategic review and business plan, may then allocate one of its operational management companies to manage and implement a strategy to enable the client business to achieve its objectives. This will depend on size, scope, scale, and duration.

Profiles

John Strachan, Chairman.

Having served for a number of years as Chairman of Nordic Restructuring, John Strachan brings more than 30 years of management experience in primary industries investment, exploration, development and production.

John is a seasoned professional primarily in the oil and gas industry with hands on experience in acquisitions and disposals and operational project development, including upstream and downstream activities. He has catalysed a number of successful oil and gas transactions internationally resulting in superior investor gains.

He has extensive experience in the FSU and emerging markets while his expertise in the flotation process has taken companies successfully to public markets in both UK and Germany.

Prior to returning to the UK in 1986 John served as a senior police officer in Hong Kong for 16 years where he was responsible for the successful investigation of a number of high profile homicides and commercial crimes during his tenure.

Chris McGeehan, Executive Director.

As a successful experienced Director in engineering services Chris McGeehan’s career has taken him from the practical operations of providing design, manufacturing, engineering and fabrication services to overall responsibility for directing operational and financial business performance.

Throughout his career Chris has focused on attaining technical and business excellence by consistently delivering and exceeding set objectives.

Chris is a member of the IFT, the UK’s leading source of knowledge, education and best practice in turnaround and transformation of organisations that are at risk of underperforming whether SMEs, quoted companies, public private or not-for-profit charities.

Angela McGeehan, Commercial Director.

As an experienced accounts professional, Angela’s career has seen her work in finance administration across diverse organisations.

Angela’s experience includes working in retail, the automotive industry, oil and gas and the public sector.

She has a strong track record of collating necessary documentation for management accounts, as well as annual and interim audits. She has worked extensively in sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control, nominal reconciliation, bank reconciliation and payroll.

Jim Peden, Interim Executive Director.

Jim Peden is a seasoned professional executive director with a proven track record that includes over twenty years’ energy sector experience with specific expertise in capital investment delivery, asset management and operational excellence.

In recent years, he has provided clients with expert advisory services, covering a wide range of strategic developments, operational transitions and investments, in addition to FID diligence transactions. This has included independent board level guidance to a diverse portfolio of PLC, AIM companies and independent clients.

Jim’s impressive CV lists a host of UK and international achievements having worked in the UK, Europe, Middle East and North America. These achievements reflect his work in asset management and include the successful delivery of major capital and business performance re-engineering projects.

Jim holds an MBA from the University of Bradford, England and graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.

Jeremy Dearman, Interim Finance Director.

Jeremy Dearman FCCA, BSc (Hons), Interim Finance Director at Grandholm, has enjoyed a distinguished career which has taken him from working in practice to industry positions as financial director for companies within the UK and abroad.”

He has been heavily involved in corporate integration and restructuring projects, implementation of ERP projects and large capital project financing. Jeremy has a strong technical background in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US GAAP, the accounting standard adopted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

In addition, his expertise covers intra group trading, large capital project financing and bonding; management, forecasting and cash flow, risk management, budgeting, tax and VAT. With a ‘big four’ audit background with Ernst & Young LLP, Jeremy is strong on financial analysis, consolidation, audit, tax and due diligence.

He has extensive experience within the energy sector and has practised in retail, real estate, transport and haulage, automotive, information, technology and media.

Jeremy is a skilled motivator and approachable leader with a high level of technical acumen, drive and openness.
